Electronic Waste Drop Off Day

Old mobile phones, chargers, televisions and other electronics do not belong in the bin!

E-waste is any unwanted item that's powered by a plug or batteries. 

Do you know why these items cannot go in any household bin? 

Electronic waste (e-waste) can cause serious fires in our waste trucks and recycling facilities. When these products go to landfill, they leach out harmful substances that pollute the soil, air and waterways.

These items also have valuable resources and materials that can be reused and made into new products, so please don’t waste them. Instead, drop your unwanted e-waste off at Hobsons Bay’s upcoming Electronic Waste Drop Off Day.

E-Waste Drop Off Day

When: Saturday 20 April, 9am – 2pm

Where: Hobsons Bay City Council Operations Centre – Sugargum Drive, Altona

Cost: Free

Note: Another E-Waste Drop Off Day will be held in the second half of 2024.
