I am a semi retired Maternal & Child Health Nurse and after 30 years as a Nurse Consultant at the Royal Children's Hospital established a private practice Parenting Matters dealing with babies with eating and feeding problems. In working with infants and their parents in the Hospital my work developed an increasing interest in understanding why some infants have more difficulty in establishing normal routines of feeding, eating, sleeping and comforting than others.

I have been involved with the Infant Mental Health Group at Royal Children's Hospital from its inception in 1990 and completed a Master in Health Science (Parent and Infant Mental Health) at Melbourne University with a minor thesis on a model for treatment of infant feeding refusal.

Life in, and connection to, Hobsons Bay

I have lived in Brooklyn for the last five years enjoying the geographically defined small community and joining its drive for better pollution monitoring and resident access with the restrictive Millers Rd Freeway work. Before setting up my practice in Maribyrnong, I was based in the Gowrie Clare Court Centre.

I regularly enjoyed the wonderful nature reserves and parks in Hobsons Bay especially Paisley-Challis Wetlands and Newport Lakes.

Rebecca and the Novel Saturdays at the Altona North Library was the boost to get me to complete my book.
