Emma McLean Kindergarten

The Victorian Government and Hobsons Bay City Council are investing in a new facility at Emma McLean Kindergarten to ensure there are sufficient places for local families now and into the future.

The service will continue to operate while the works are currently underway.

The redevelopment is part of significant investment from the Victorian Government to increase capacity in kindergartens to support the rollout of free three-year-old kindergarten (up to 15 hours a week) for all children by 2029. Including four-year-old kindergarten, this will give all Victorian children two years of free kindergarten.

The existing site has been demolished and shortly a new three-room modular kindergarten will be delivered to site. It is anticipated these works will be completed by January 2024.

Update April 2025:

Emma McLean Kindergarten has moved back to Hope St, Spotswood.
