Celebrating Interfaith Connections and Reconciliation Leadership

Join us for a morning of celebration and thought provoking discussion celebrating more than 20 years of interfaith connections and reconciliation leadership across Hobsons Bay. 

The opportunity to host this event during National Reconciliation Week is a chance to acknowledge our long history and collective commitment to reconciliation and First Nations people and build on the 2024 theme 'Reconciliation - Now More Than Ever'.

Join us:

  • 10:30am Church tour 
  • 11am Formalities begin with a smoking ceremony & Welcome to Country 
  • 11:30am Choir performance 
  • 11:40am Panel discussion 
  • 12:40pm Yarrabah Dancers perform
  • 1pm Event concludes  

Our panellists include: 

  • Amal Abou-Eid - passionate educator, author and mother of two with a strong connection to her Lebanese heritage
  • Aunty Pauline - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women with a strong connection to Melbourne's west and the niece of Eddie Mabo
  • Rev. Canon Glenn Loughrey - Wiradjuri; Associate Professor, Crawford School of Public Policy, ANU, Canberra; and Vicar, St Oswald's Glen Iris

Hosted by the Hobsons Bay Interfaith Network in partnership with Holy Trinity Anglican Church and Hobsons Bay City Council.
