Parenting Support

Hobsons Bay has a variety of parenting support programs and forums available to families within the municipality. These programs and forums are delivered by a range of service providers, including Hobsons Bay City Council. They aim to provide support to parents and families in Hobsons Bay and can include practical parenting sessions, parenting groups, counselling/advice and more.

Parenting support programs and forums will be available to view here at the beginning of each term.

Family Support

A variety of family support programs are available within the municipality, provided by a variety of service providers, although not directly run by Council.

Programs aim to support and promote the health, wellbeing and functioning of families who are experiencing significant difficulties, in order to prevent or divert families from entering more intrusive statutory services such as Child Protection. It is family focused and builds on the strengths and competencies of the whole family.

Support may include:

  • outreach
  • counselling and/or Advice
  • practical support
  • parenting groups
  • assistance with drug and alcohol or gambling problems
