Get up to $65 back when you purchase reusables!  

reusable-nappies.pngHave you ever thought about trying reusable nappies, menstrual underwear or washable incontinence products? It’s time to give them a go with our reusables rebate. 
 
Switching from disposable sanitary, incontinence or nappy products to reusables is a fantastic way to save money and reduce your environmental footprint.  

* unless funding allocation is exhausted prior – check back to this page for funding updates as we will notify residents here if the funding allocation is close to being exhausted.

What can I claim?

  • The Hobsons Bay reusables rebate is a one-off rebate available for up to $65 on the purchase price of:
  • reusable nappies
  • reusable swim nappies
  • reusable baby wipes
  • reusable breast pads 
  • reusable menstrual cups 
  • reusable cloth sanitary pads 
  • reusable period-proof underwear 
  • reusable incontinence underwear  
  • reusable incontinence pads 
  • any associated shipping costs  

Any items not on this list are not eligible for the 2024/25 reusables rebate. 

The rebate does not cover the following items: 

  • cleaning or washing products 
  • toilet training underwear/nappies 
  • bed sheets / bed protectors 
  • maternity bras 
  • period-proof swimwear 
  • secondhand items
  • items purchased off a marketplace e.g. Facebook marketplace

Terms and conditions

Please read these carefully before applying. 

  • Purchases must be made between 25 July 2024 – 31 March 2025 unless funding allocation is exhausted prior.
  • Residents can claim the one-off rebate on any amount up to $65 on eligible items.  
    Eligible items are:
    • reusable nappies 
    • reusable swim nappies 
    • reusable baby wipes 
    • reusable breast pads 
    • reusable menstrual cups 
    • reusable cloth sanitary pads 
    • reusable period-proof underwear 
    • reusable incontinence underwear 
    • reusable incontinence pads 
    • any associated shipping costs  
  • The rebate does not cover the following items:  
    • cleaning or washing products 
    • toilet training underwear/nappies 
    • bed sheets / bed protectors 
    • maternity bras 
    • period-proof swimwear 
    • second hand items
    • items purchased off a marketplace e.g. Facebook marketplace
  • A maximum of one rebate is available per household. Residents must have a unique bank account, phone number, email address and Hobsons Bay residential address to claim the rebate. No claims with duplicate bank accounts, phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses will be approved. 

  • If you have purchased multiple items and have multiple receipts, please upload all of them together in the one application, as you will not be able to submit a second application.

  • Residents must upload proof of purchase of eligible item to receive rebate, with the following details clearly visible: date of purchase, product name, amount.

  • Only Hobsons Bay City Council residents are eligible.  

What you need to apply

  • Name

  • Address (to help us confirm you are a resident of Hobsons Bay and for us to check your household hasn't previously received the rebate) 

  • Unique email address (to receive communications related to the reusables rebate and for us to check you haven’t previously received the rebate)

  • Unique phone number (for us to check you haven’t previously received the rebate)

  • Unique bank details (for us to make payment and for us to check you haven’t previously received the rebate)

  • Proof of purchase clearly showing date of purchase, product name and amount – multiple file uploads accepted

Before you apply, please note

  • Only one application can be made per household. If you intend to claim the rebate on multiple items, please lodge all receipts together in the one application. There are multiple upload invoice fields for you to do this however the maximum rebate amount you can receive is $65 per household. 

  • Rebates will take 3-4 weeks to be paid into your nominated bank account.
