Creative opportunities

Council offers opportunities throughout the year for artists, organisations and groups to apply for funding, develop their creative practice, have their say and present work in Hobsons Bay.

Applications for creative opportunities open at different times throughout the year.

The next round of expressions of interest for Laneway Gallery, Woods Street Arts Space (creative programming and front gallery), Woods Street Youth Art Prize, Soundstep Studios, and Airtime will open on Monday 4 May.

Woods Street Youth Art Prize

The Woods Street Youth Art Prize showcases the artistic talent of young artists aged 14 to 25 from Melbourne’s western region.

Airtime 2026-27: Expressions of interest

Expressions of interest for Airtime outdoor exhibition space are open to young artists in Hobsons Bay from 4 May to 1 June.

Laneway Gallery 2026-27: Expressions of interest

Expressions of interest for the 2026-27 Laneway Gallery program are open to artists in Melbourne's west from 4 May to 1 June.

Creative programming at Woods Street Arts Space: EOI

Expressions of Interest (EOI) from artists and/or creative collectives to deliver creative programming at Woods Street Arts Space are open from 4 May to 1 June.

Artist-in-Residence program at Soundstep Studios

An opportunity at Soundstep Studios for artists to develop their craft in a community-operated recording studio.

Woods Street Arts Space Front Gallery EOI

Artists are invited to apply for the new exhibitions program in the Front Gallery of Woods Street Arts Space in Laverton. Submissions open 4 May to 1 June.
