'Giao Điểm (A Meeting Place)' by Phuong Nguyen Le
|
Giao Điểm (A Meeting Place) explores how family stories are passed down intergenerationally—not only through words, but also through silence and secrecy—in the aftermath of war and displacement. During a visit to Cambodia, where the artist’s father was deployed in a secret war, Le invited his father to collaboratively create photographs that speak to his past, reimagining storytelling as a reparative gesture.
Phuong Nguyen Le is an emerging Vietnamese photographer, artist, and researcher. His work engages with counter-historical thoughts drawing on familial, communal, and collective identities within his Vietnamese communities.
