The Australian Services Union is taking protected industrial action as part of enterprise agreement bargaining. Some council services including response times may be affected as a result. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
Hobsons Bay has limits on numbers of animals or birds at properties as well as non-permitted animals within our municipality, depending on the type of property you live in. Restrictions on numbers helps reduce risks to animals and the community.
If you wish to exceed the animal numbers at your property for an allowed type of animal, check the table below and apply for an additional animal permit. A non-refundable application fee of $191 applies. You may also require a permit to keep certain animals.
Council will not allow more than five animals above a type except under exceptional circumstances. The fee associated with the permit is for the processing of the permit.
