BayFit Leisure Centre upgrades

Bayfit is one of Hobsons Bay’s most important community facilities, supporting thousands of residents each year through aquatic, fitness and wellbeing programs.

However, parts of the facility are ageing and no longer meet modern standards or community expectations.

At the same time, population growth and changing demographics are increasing demand for accessible, high-quality leisure infrastructure.

Without investment, the centre’s ability to meet current and future needs will decline.

The Bayfit upgrade will revitalise the facility, improving functionality, accessibility and user experience. The project will deliver:

• Upgraded aquatic and leisure facilities
• Improved accessibility and inclusive design
• Modernised amenities and change facilities
• Enhanced spaces for health, fitness and community programs
• Increased capacity for users and programming

• Growing demand for community infrastructure
• Melbourne’s west is experiencing sustained population growth, placing pressure on existing community facilities.
