Cultural Diversity Week 2026

Cultural Diversity Week 21 to 29 March 2026. Culture connects us all

21–29 March

Cultural Diversity Week is one of Australia’s most vibrant celebrations, honouring the strength and richness of our multicultural communities. It’s a time to recognise the traditions, stories, and cultural heritage that make Victoria such a dynamic and inclusive place to live.

The theme for 2026 “Culture connects us all” invites us to share our experiences and perspectives to deepen understanding, foster belonging, and build stronger community connections. The week also aligns with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on 21 March, reinforcing our commitment to diversity, respect, and unity.

Hobsons Bay is proudly one of Victoria’s most culturally diverse communities—home to residents from more than 150 countries, speaking over 120 languages, and practising more than 80 faiths. This unique blend of cultures, stories, and traditions creates a welcoming, vibrant city that thrives on diversity. You can check out our community profile here Home | Hobsons Bay City | Community profile .

Join the celebrations by sharing your own story with friends, neighbours, or online—and get involved in one of the many programs, activities, and events taking place across the week. Together, let’s celebrate what makes our community so special.
