Starting August 31 and running for about 12 weeks, we'll be doing works on Pier Street, Altona, from Blyth Street to Railway Street.
We'll be upgrading pedestrian crossings, drainage, lighting and signage.
Pier Street will be closed to traffic during this time, but there will still be pedestrian access and businesses will remain open. Detours will be in place.
Buses and delivery trucks will still have access to Pier Street. Any temporary impacts to bus stops in this area throughout the construction will be clearly communicated by Transport Victoria via signs at the bus stops.
Work hours for this project will generally be between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, with a small component requiring night works.
This project is part of our traffic safety improvement program and is partially funded by the Victorian Government through the Safe Local Roads and Streets Program.
