It provides a clear and accessible explanation of Council's long-term planning direction and how individual planning projects fit together.

Our vision for Hobsons Bay

By 2051, Council is working towards a Hobsons Bay that:

  • creates connected neighbourhoods with access to jobs, education, open space and recreation
  • protects heritage, environmental assets and Hobsons Bay's unique sense of place
  • responds proactively to climate change, flooding and coastal hazards
  • integrates housing, jobs, transport and environmental planning in a coordinated way
  • balances growth and change while maintaining the qualities that make Hobsons Bay a liveable and distinctive municipality.
