Presented by GSOV website (GSOV), A G&S Christmas Carol is the Australian premiere of a playful adaptation of Dickens’ classic redemption story, A Christmas Carol, using favourite music from the Gilbert & Sullivan operas, and clever lyrics from Gayden Wren, a New York-based Arts Editor at The New York Times. 

Featuring popular musical gems from The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, HMS Pinafore, Iolanthe, The Yeomen of the Guard, Patience, Ruddigore and more, this fully-staged show with an ensemble cast, splendid costumes and a live trio, will be presented at Williamstown Town Hall (5 December, 2pm).

A G&S Christmas Carol is sure to delight both Dickens and G&S fans as well as entertain children and grandchildren with more than a hint of panto, and some delightful theatrical surprises from Director Ben Klein.

GSOV has presented G&S and comic opera gems for 91 years.

The usual professional presentation of A Christmas Carol in central Melbourne is not happening in 2026.
