Westside Studio

A youth-led initiative providing young people with opportunities to design, deliver and engage in the music industry and live events.

  • Westside Open Studio Sessions - open mic: We’re opening the doors of our music studio for a free youth music night. This is your chance to create, connect and chill in a fun and supportive space.

  • Full Volume: Music events featuring artists aged 15-25 years.

  • Westside Studio Crew: The Westside Studio Crew are a group of young people who plan and create local events for young people. Hobsons Bay Youth Services provide the Crew with training and support to build their skills and experience in event production and management.

  • Westside Studio - youth bookings: Located at Newport Community Hub, Westside Studio is a FREE, dedicated creative space for young people aged 12 to 25 years who are passionate about music, songwriting, recording and performance.

  • Youth music, events and skills database: Whether you're a solo artist, part of a band, a DJ, face painter, workshop facilitator, photographer, content creator, market stallholder, or have another unique skill to share, we'd love to hear from you.
  • Teen Artist in Residence: Our Teen Artist in Residence – Band practice program gives bands the chance to rehearse weekly in a real studio environment, develop their sound, and build confidence in a supportive and creative setting.
