Housing Strategy
Hobsons Bay City Council is reviewing its 2019 Housing Strategy to plan for future growth and ensure the city remains liveable, sustainable and well-connected. Guided by Plan for Victoria 2025, the review responds to a target of delivering 22,500 new homes by 2051, alongside state-led reforms to support housing supply.
The updated strategy will reflect Hobsons Bay’s unique local context, including environmental considerations, access to jobs, public transport and community infrastructure. It will also align with the latest state guidance, ensuring the strategy functions as a ‘living document’ that can adapt over time.
The review is supported by technical analysis, community and stakeholder engagement and related strategic work such as neighbourhood character, activity centres, transport and heritage helping to shape a balanced and informed approach to future housing.
