Mulch, water and weed – help our plants thrive

Next date: Friday, 13 November 2026 | 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Bring your team, make a difference and be part of a greener, more connected Brooklyn. Supported by Friends of Lower Kororoit Creek, Melbourne Water and Brooklyn Recycling Group — a partnership of local businesses working together to improve the environment and amenity of the Brooklyn industrial precinct.

What’s planned for the morning?

  • Spread mulch around newly planted areas
  • Water plants to help them establish
  • Tackle some basic weeding and litter removal

Since mid-2025, more than 3,000 tube stock plants have been planted at this site. Now, a little extra care will help them thrive. Mulching, watering and weeding are important steps in improving plant survival and helping this local green corridor flourish.

Everyone is welcome! No experience is needed — just bring a willingness to get involved and enjoy a morning outdoors with others who care about our local environment.
