Your printed waste and recycling calendar
Your 2026 waste and recycling calendars are on their way! Distribution is happening throughout the first half of December, so keep an eye on your letterbox.
Please note your bin collection day/schedule will not change in 2026. Please contact us if you have any queries about your 2026 calendar, or if you’ve not received it by Wednesday 17 December 2025.
To read your calendar, please follow the below instructions:
1. Find the day your bins will be collected
Look at the map on the back of your calendar and find the coloured zone where you live. This will tell you which day of the week your bins will be collected. For a more detailed map, use the interactive waste collections map.
2. Check which bins are collected on any given week
Each line of the calendar is colour-coded to tell you which bins are collected that week.
For example, for the week beginning 2 November, the row is coloured yellow, purple and red which shows that your recycling bin (yellow), glass bin (purple) and your rubbish bin (red) will be collected on your allocated day.
For the week beginning 23 November, the row is coloured green and red, which shows you that your food and garden bin (green) and rubbish bin (red) will be collected on your allocated day.
3. Note non-collection days
Collections will not occur on Good Friday, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Collections will occur one day after your usual collection day that week. This is indicated by the blue box representing a public holiday, followed by the arrow icon in the calendar.
For example,1 January is a public holiday and has a blue box around it, which tells you it's a non-collection day. The arrows next to 1 January and 2 January indicate that collections will occur one day after your usual collection day.
You can also download your 2026 calendar from the below links. Before you do so, you'll need to know which area of Hobsons Bay you live in.
Hobsons Bay is divided into four areas: Area 1, Area 2, Area 3 and Area 4. To learn which area you reside in, please view the below map or the interactive waste collections map. Once you've determined which area you're in, scroll down to find the link to the collection calendar for your area.
