Community Recognition Awards nominations now open

Nominations are now open for the inaugural Hobsons Bay Community Recognition Awards.  

The new awards program has been established to recognise individuals, clubs and community organisations making a difference in Hobsons Bay. 

The new initiative features six awards categories, to recognise a variety of contributions to the community, including: 

  • Helping Others Award
    • Going above and beyond to support others
  • Change Maker Award
    • Leading positive change in the community
  • Sporting Spirit Award
    • Individual, club or team involved with community sport and recreation, through playing, coaching or volunteering
  • Community Strengthening Award  
    • Community group that has made an exceptional contribution to building a stronger, more connected and inclusive Hobsons Bay 
  • Young Leader Award  
    • Young person (12 to 25 years of age) who is making a real difference in the community 
  • Community Leader Award 
    • A person who is making a real difference in the community 

Nominations are open until Wednesday 15 April, with winners announced on Saturday 30 May as part of Council’s National Volunteer Week celebrations. 

Each award winner will receive up to $500 towards capacity-building training or professional development.
