Following a recent structural assessment, the Commonwealth Reserve rotunda in Williamstown will be closed temporarily to ensure community safety.

It was found that further engineering assessments are required to confirm what works are needed to ensure the safety of the site.

While still deemed safe for light use, the assessment highlighted concerns around ongoing and extended use of the rotunda without remedial works taking place.

The rotunda will remain closed until further assessments and works can be completed. There is currently no timeline for these works, but Council will communicate re-opening timelines to the community once they are known.

The area will be fenced off while assessment works continue. Community safety is paramount during this process, and Council appreciates the community's patience while this work takes place.
