Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club redevelopment

Williamston Life Saving Club.jpg
Council, the Victorian Government, Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club and Life Saving Victoria are working together to deliver the redevelopment of the Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club facilities. Victorian Government funding of $11.3 million was secured in 2021, with Council committing a further $3 million towards this community project.

The project will revitalise the foreshore precinct and deliver the essential lifesaving components required for the club to thrive in this location for many years to come.

Project update

In April 2026, Hobsons Bay City Council and the state government agreed for the project to be assessed as a state project moving forward.

The change means the Victorian Government are assessing the project as it continues through the planning process, which will continue to ensure transparency, accountability and integrity.
