The Zone, Altona North

The Zone project aims to transform Paisley Park into a vibrant, engaging space for young people, addressing the lack of open areas and activities in the region. Feedback from the Better Places Brooklyn & Altona North consultation highlighted a strong community desire for facilities that provide opportunities for connection, skill development and recreation.

By collaborating with Council’s Youth Services and incorporating input from youth representatives and local groups, the project seeks to deliver creative, inclusive spaces that are safe and welcoming. Proposed features include a pump track, a half-court basketball court, and informal seating and study areas, all designed to offer diverse activities while fostering community engagement. This initiative reflects a holistic approach to creating meaningful spaces for young people, ensuring they have access to enriching experiences within their local area.

Works are expected to start late July 2025 and be completed by December 2025. The Pump Track procurement is near completion.
