Next date: Wednesday, 05 August 2026 | 06:30 PM to 07:30 PM
Join lecturer and author Dr. Hannah Gould (How to Die in the 21st Century) in conversation with manager of Louis Joel Arts and Community, and local Death Café facilitator Karen Ingram, for a thoughtful exploration of mortality in contemporary life.
Together, they will discuss the process of writing Hannah’s provocative book, and explore how modern medicine, culture, and technology shape our experience of dying. Grounded in the ethos of the global Death Café movement, which encourages open and honest discussions about death, the conversation will also reflect on the value of open dialogue, inviting audiences to consider how talking more openly about death can foster connection, understanding, and wellbeing. This event is being held in celebration of Dying to Know Day on Saturday 8 August, which encourages open and honest conversations about death.
Bookings close at 4.30pm on day of event.
