Biodiversity Month 7Seasons Screening and Nature Journaling Workshop

Bring the whole family for a day of learning and creativity, beginning with a documentary screening of 7Seasons, a documentary celebrating Indigenous knowledge and the young people at the forefront of climate action.

Directed by Clancy Lester and produced by Max Shannon, the documentary aims to restore our connection to nature, and our connection to each other by spotlighting the role that Indigenous knowledge holders are playing in combating the impacts of climate change on our environment.

The screening will be followed by an interactive panel discussion featuring Indigenous knowledge holders Jaeden Williams-Briggs, a Yalukit Willam man of the Boonwurrung people and Kai Lane, a Yorta-Yorta and Barapa-Barapa man; along with educator Jo Connor from Environmental Education Victoria, and 7Seasons producer Max Shannon. Children can enjoy a nature-inspired collage activity while adults take part in the conversation.

After a break for light refreshments, join us for a hands-on Boonwurrung Seasons Nature Journaling Workshop run in partnership with Jaeden Williams-Briggs and Environmental Education Victoria, where families will explore local biodiversity and learn how Indigenous perspectives of the seasons can help us better understand and care for the natural world.

Suitable for families, nature lovers and anyone curious about Indigenous knowledge, biodiversity, and caring for Country.
