Doreen's Grassland

Doreens-grassland_1.jpg

This special grassland is named after Doreen, a former local resident who lovingly documented the wild plants of the Western Basalt Plains. She collected and pressed many of the species that once thrived here.

The reserve is currently undergoing restoration using a process called scalping. There is interpretation on site and a seat to allow visitors the opportunity to learn about the restoration process and enjoy the wildflower display in spring. More information about the restoration process can be found here .
