Woods Street Arts Space’s Front Gallery is a dedicated exhibition space that supports artists at all stages to test ideas, experiment and present bold work through a rotating program of community-focused exhibitions.

A new component of Woods Street Arts Space’s programming, the Front Gallery will showcase four to six exhibitions each year and is a free exhibition opportunity for creatives.

Expressions of Interest for the Front Gallery program (August 2026 – July 2027) are open from 4 May to 1 June via SmartyGrants.

Letters from Laverton

Letters from Laverton is a community project that celebrates the history of Laverton. Using oral histories, images and artefacts, it traces the history of Laverton and captures the historical heart of a community – in its own words.

This free exhibition is on display at Woods Street Arts Space, which is remembered by many as the old Laverton post office.

Letters from Laverton is presented by New World Arts and is supported by Council through its Make it Happen Grants program.
