World Migratory Bird Day Free Guided Walk Altona

Next date: Saturday, 09 May 2026 | 09:45 AM to 12:30 PM

Laverton Creek Estuary

Join the Hobsons Bay Wetlands Centre with ranger Suzette on a free guided walk along Laverton Creek Estuary.

9 May is the first World Migratory Bird day of 2026, when we farewell the migratory birds from our shores. Some have come from as far as Siberia to spend the summer feeding on the amazing coastal wetlands we have in Port Phillip Bay.

All are welcome to join in the walk; register on the day.

Wear good walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothes. Children must be accompanied by a guardian. Bring a camera and binoculars if you have them. We have some binoculars you can borrow; even ones for the kids!
