Sugba para sa Sugbo – Australia Day community fundraiser

Filipino-Food-Instagram-Post

A community-led fundraising event aims to support families in Cebu, Philippines. The recent 6.9 magnitude earthquake, and flooding from Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi) and Uwan (Tung-wong), directly impacted Cebu. Philippines has caused widespread devastation, displacing families, destroying homes, and disrupting livelihoods.

We intentionally chose Australia Day as it holds special significance for many Filipinos who have found Australia to be their second home, making it a meaningful occasion to come together in the spirit of bayanihan, compassion, and multicultural solidarity.

Your presence would be deeply valued and would lend great significance to the evening, particularly in strengthening ties between the Filipino community in Victoria and ongoing humanitarian efforts in the Philippines.
