Peer Power Program at Spotwood's Senior Exercise Park

Next date: Wednesday, 14 October 2026 | 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM

The Spotswood Seniors Exercise Park is one of Hobsons Bay's best kept secrets. And it is about to get even better.

The Peer Power Program is a free train-the-trainer course that teaches you how to lead yourself and others at the park safely, confidently and powerfully. You will know every exercise in the circuit, how to progress them, and how to welcome and support newcomers.

Award-winning community leaders Dr Liz Cyarto and Louise Karch are your trainers. Their programs have improved participant balance by 38 per cent and strength by 25 per cent in under eight weeks.

Now they are passing that knowledge on to you.

This seniors' train the trainer program is free. It will only be offered once. It includes:

  • two fun, upbeat on-site training sessions
  • a professionally designed training manual
  • laminated circuit cards for each exercise station
  • personalised coaching
  • certificate of completion

We ask that you:

  • attend both training sessions
  • join three follow-up catch-ups at one, three, and six months (one hour each)
  • use the park at least 12 times over the year

Supported by Hobsons Bay City Council's Make It Happen Grants program and auspiced by Outlets Co-operative Neighbourhood House. Spots are limited.

To apply, email Dr Liz at thehealthysenior@gmail.com and tell us why you want to do this course and how you plan to contribute to the park afterwards.
