From Seed to Flower Zine at Woods Street Arts Space 2026

Join a hands-on series of zine making workshops at Wood Street Art Space. In session one you’ll learn to make paper by hand. In session two you’ll practice the art of bookbinding using foundational techniques. The third and final session focuses on creative writing, zine making and decorating the beautiful handmade books. The series of workshops revolve around the theme ‘From Seed to Flower’. Materials will be predominantly natural and/or recycled and will be provided at each session.

Tickets are $5 and include a hot drink, biscuit and all materials.

The workshop is suitable for ages 12+. Participants under 14 are to be accompanied by an adult.

About the facilitator:

Sophia is an artist and ecologist based in Naarm/Melbourne. She studied at the London School of Muralism and has worked as a Schools and Youth Officer at Vauxhall City Farm. She continues to work in alternative education settings and collaborates with creative spaces like Wood Street Art Space that centre collective wellbeing. Her workshops are designed to bring together art and ecology in ways that are accessible, practical, and joyful for communities in the area.
