Craft clear out.jpg

Do you have rolls of fabric, knitting needles, or other craft supplies gathering dust in your house? Don't let them sit unused! Instead, donate them and help support creativity in our community.

Donated supplies will be used for programming at the Altona Meadows Makerspace and at Louis Joel Arts & Community. This initiative is being run to celebrate World Environment Day and aims to promote sustainable reuse and recycling of craft materials.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Rolls of cotton fabric (between 1-5M)
  • Rolls of canvas (between 1-5M)
  • Knitting needles (no singular needles, only pairs)
  • Crochet needles
  • Sewing thread (must be more than half remaining on spool)
  • Yarn (unused)
  • Buttons
  • Velcro tape (unused)
  • Zippers (unused)
  • Iron-on patches
  • Paint brushes (unused)
  • Craft wire
  • Mosaic tiles (new)
  • Ceramics tools (unused)
  • Coloured pencils, markers and/or crayons (neatly bundled or unopened)
  • Cardstock and craft paper (unused)

You can drop off donated craft supplies at any of our Hobsons Bay library branches between Friday 15 May and Monday 8 June.
