Grants program opens to help make things happen

Community groups, producers and organisations are encouraged to apply to Council’s Make it Happen grants program which is now open.

The Hobsons Bay Make it Happen grants program is designed to help bring projects, events and initiatives to life for the benefit of the community.  

Applications for the 2025 Make it Happen grants are open from 5 February, closing at 1pm on 31 March.  

Make it Happen grants help fund activities, projects, programs, events and resources across all sectors including environment, sustainability, sport and recreation, arts and culture, health and wellbeing, multicultural, community and neighbourhood development, technology, projects by and for young people, children and families, and more. 

More than $1.7 million has been distributed to community groups through the program since 2022.

Applications can be made for equipment and resources (up to $1,500), community projects (up to $15,000) or events (up to $25,000). 

The program supports events, projects and activities that take place until December 2026. 

Council will host grant information and writing workshops online via Zoom during the application period.
