Native nature strips

Transforming your nature strip into a habitat garden is a small gesture that makes a big difference. When planting local native species, you:
  • provide habitat and food for urban wildlife
  • enhance biodiversity
  • improve ecosystems, and
  • connect our green corridors.

Some residents may wish to plant small plants on the nature strip in front of their property. These landscape guidelines(PDF, 305KB) have been developed to assist and guide residents in the appropriate landscape development of their nature strips. The design examples above are compliant with our nature strip landscape guidelines.
