Vika & Linda with James Henry are part of Live from The Altona Theatre, a three-night concert series presented by Hobsons Bay City Council as part of On the Road Again, a Victorian Government initiative.

It comes naturally to Melbourne’s Bull sisters – they’ve been singing together their entire lives, traversing rock, country, gospel, reggae, R&B, soul and blues, as well as paying tribute to their rich Tongan heritage.

With the huge success of their recently released album ‘The Wait’ – their first record of original songs in 19 years – Vika & Linda are celebrating their 3rd ARIA Top 5 album in just 15 months.  ‘The Wait’ debuted at number 2 on Australia’s Album Chart, scoring overwhelmingly positive praise from fans and critics alike. With their soulful vocals right at the fore, Vika and Linda live on stage is an incredible experience not to be missed. 

 

James Henry

 

James Henry is an in-demand composer and sound designer,  writing various blends of traditional Aboriginal and contemporary genres. His diverse skill set has seen him compose for Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Philharmonia Choir and be musical director for the ‘Dreamtime at the G’ opening ceremonies, and the 'Tanderrum' Melbourne Festival Opening Ceremonies.

The strength in James’ music comes from his diversity. James has toured around the country performing as a solo artist as well as a featured performer on national and international tours with the Black Arm Band and Buried Country. As a singer/songwriter he gets his strongest influences from 60's pop/rock/folk melodists such as The Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel. With his range of style  and guitar in hand,  James Henry sets take you on a journey that includes  big powerful ballads, quirky light- hearted comical stories and  high energy rock.

Live from the Altona Theatre  is a three-night concert series, delivering live contemporary music to audiences in the west from the Altona Theatre,  a 244-seat purpose-built theatre in the heart of Pier Street Altona.

With an amazing line up of artists, Live from the Altona Theatre could make the Altona Theatre a sustainable new music venue, contributing to Melbourne’s touring gig circuit, right here in Hobsons Bay.
