Community Signboard Permits

Council provides two community signboard sites for local not-for-profit organisations or community groups based in Hobsons Bay to display and promote upcoming events.

Community signboard sites:

  • Altona         Corner of Millers Road and Civic Parade (south-west corner)
  • Newport     Corner of Walker Street and Mason Street (east of roundabout)

(please hover over red markers to view signboard locations)

There is an administration fee payable of $50.00 per booking required prior to erecting your signboard. To erect a community signboard at one of the locations listed above, you must complete the online community signboard application form. Early applications recommended, subject to availability.

You can now also submit an application in our new portal, which we're currently beta testing. To give it a try, visit My Hobsons Bay Hub.

Please note: Signboards must be no larger than 2.4m x 1.2m in size.

Prior to completing your application, please review the following documents:

Community Signboards Policy(PDF, 122KB)

Artwork and Format Guide(PDF, 2MB)

Hobsons Bay Planning Scheme(PDF, 5MB) (Clause 52.05)
