HobArchies 2024 Art Exhibition

The Archibald Prize is an Australian portraiture art prize for painting, generally seen as the most prestigious portrait prize in Australia. It was first awarded in 1921 after the receipt of a bequest from J. F. Archibald, the editor of The Bulletin who died in 1919.

Hobsons Bay Arts Society Inc. is delighted to announce our annual version of the Archibald Prize called the HobArchies.

This popular art prize honouring portraits of humans or animals is presented by HBAS and supported by Hobsons Bay City Council, Civic Spaces program.

The 2024 HobArchies is for HBAS members only and will be held at the Council offices at Hobsons Bay City Council.

The exhibition has 2 categories – Portrait of a person or an animal, in any medium.
