Stop 12: Cherry Lake

Capture Hobsons Bay Stop 12 Cherry Lake

In 1954, the area where Cherry Lake now sits was a car racing track. The races were moved to Albert Park after only a year at which time the land became the amazing recreational reserve it is today.

There are so many photo opportunities here. The bottom (west) end is great for shooting a spectacular sunrise with the high chance of pelicans or swans perched on the rocks in the foreground. The top (east end) is great for sunset with the smokestacks in the distance. In between are stunning paths and bridges that meander their way past the waddling white ducks and stunning trees.

There are a row of Ornamental Pear trees lining a path near the playground that are great for autumn colours and blossom shots in the spring.
