The Victorian Government has partnered with Hobsons Bay City Council to deliver a package of improvements to its sporting facilities and recreational spaces in area impacted by works associated with the West Gate Tunnel Project. 

The Brooklyn community has already shared a lot of great ideas about improving open spaces in Brooklyn. Based on this feedback, Council has developed concept plans for Brooklyn Reserve, D.N. Duane Reserve and Rowan Avenue Reserve. These concept plans for these three reserves are now available for you to review and comment on. Please click here.

Construction Update

Works have commenced at Rowan Ave, D.N. Duane and Brooklyn reserves.

New play equipment is currently being constructed at Rowan Ave and D.N. Duane reserves. Rowan Ave Reserve will be closed to the public until construction is complete in mid-2020. A section within D.N. Duane Reserve will be cordoned off while construction is occurring however existing facilities will still be accessible.

New public toilets are being constructed at Brooklyn Reserve. While construction is occurring a section of the reserve will be cordoned off however the remainder of the Reserve will be open to the public.

Other proposed works will include increased seating, shading and solar lighting for the two links between Cypress Avenue and Federation Trail.

 Construction commencing at Rowan Ave Reserve
