Bluestone bridge revitalisation, Brooklyn

We are revitalising the 1880s heritage listed unique blue stone bridge in Brooklyn that has served for many years as the crossing over Kororoit Creek on the main road link to Geelong.

The project will allow for renewal and maintenance of this heritage bridge. This includes some structural repairs, removal of graffiti, renewal of the bridge to ensure and extend the life of the bridge.

The project included for the provision of lighting on the abutments and the top of the bridge, and other minor modifications which will improve accessibility of the bridge.

The works will form a very welcoming entry into our city, supporting the health and wellbeing of our community, and attracting new visitors to the region.

This project is currently in the planning phase. Works are estimated to start in March 2025 and be completed by June 2025.

This project is funded by Council and the Victorian Government through the West Gate Tunnel Project's West Gate Neighborhood Fund.
