The project will be taking in the below phases and indicative timeframes included:
Concept design development: August – September 2023
The concept design for the project have been developed in close communication and active engagement with the key stakeholders including Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club, project stakeholders and relevant authorities.
Community engagement: October - December 2023
The community and key stakeholders will be invited to provide feedback on the project as a part of the Williamstown Beach precinct development Community Engagement program. Community can view the concept designs through drop-in sessions, through Council’s participate page and an online survey.
Schematic design: Early 2024
Development of construction drawings to commence with an overview and architectural elements. Community feedback will be incorporated.
Design development: Early - Mid 2024
The detailed design will be completed for the relevant permit approval processes to occur (e.g. town planning permit approval and Marine and Coastal Act consent).
Construction documentation: Mid - End 2024
Following relevant authority feedback, a public tender process will be be undertaken to appoint a builder to complete the works, once construction documentation is finalised.
Construction: 2025 – 2026
Pending permit approval from relevant authorities and the completion of the procurement process, construction will begin. Stakeholders will be communicated with prior to construction stage.
