Queer PHOTO

Presented by Midsumma and PHOTO 2024 International Festival of Photography, in association with Trocadero Projects, Queer PHOTO was a first-of-its-kind collaboration.

Taking place in Footscray, Newport and Werribee, the program comprised artist commissions of large-scale, free, outdoor artworks curated by Brendan McCleary, as well as gallery exhibitions and an interactive public performance program by local and international artists.

Featuring 17 artists, 14 exhibitions, 30 free interactive events and 7 locations, Queer PHOTO was a multi-pronged program transforming iconic venues and the streets of the west into a gallery of accessible and highly visible visual artworks from LGBTQIA+ artists.
