Creative Exchange Lab
Creative Exchange Lab supports western region artists to develop skills, share ideas and resources, and produce artistic outcomes within Hobsons Bay and beyond. It is an initiative of Hobsons Bay City Council, with components presented in partnership with other western region LGAs and arts organisations. The program’s ongoing ‘creative exchange’, will inspire new programs and partnerships, enhance existing programs, and provide participants with a stronger, more connected, creative community .
For 2022, programming will align with other key initiatives such as Cultural Diversity Week and Melbourne Fringe Festival. Local creatives will be provided with the opportunity to obtain free monthly professional development and networking opportunities with Bureau of Works and to develop artistic skills and exhibit with Wunder Gym.
The program will initially be delivered online, with the option of transfer to ‘in real life’ once restrictions and COVID safety requirements are clearer.
As part of a Creative Exchange Lab program, eligible artists* that reside in the western region of Melbourne can also opt to utilise CAPACITY, a subsidised Public Liability Insurance for low impact arts and culture activities held within the municipal boundary of Hobsons Bay.
Projects scheduled as part of the 2022 Creative Exchange Lab program have been informed by Council's Creative Industries COVID -19 Impact Questionnaire conducted in August 2021.
