During December in Vernon Street South Kingsville and Hudsons Road Spotswood, take a step back and think – what will you take from your lockdown experience into your new post COVID normal, with Backwards to Normal, an interactive art installation by local artist Felix Palmerson.
Felix would love to see you interact with this artwork! Post images or clips of your interaction to Instagram #backwards_to_normal
For most of us, walking happens without us thinking too hard about it. But when was the last time you tried walking backwards? This simple change forces us to completely reconsider how our body moves. Change has been a constant throughout COVID-19 and it’s highlighted our ability to adapt. This has been challenging but there have been positive outcomes: more family time, prioritising health and wellbeing over economic growth, implementation of work-from-home measures, the return to many a forgotten passion project...
As the world emerges from isolation, let’s not just go back to normal... this is a chance to take conscious steps toward a new ‘normal’.

This project will be delivered on Boon Wurrung Country and the artist would like to acknowledge and pay respects to the traditional custodians, the Yalukit Wilum people.
