Baby Time

Join us for a gentle and engaging session of songs, rhymes, stories, and literacy tips to nurture baby’s early language development and love of books and reading.

Sessions go for 30 minutes, BYO blanket for bub. Suitable for babies aged 0 to 12 months.

Toddler Time

Life when you’re a toddler is just too fun to sit still! These active literacy sessions are specially designed for little people who like to move. Toddler Time will introduce language and literacy elements, through story-telling, music, movement and rhyme.

Sessions go for 20 minutes. Suitable for toddlers aged 12 to 24 months.

Story Time

Sessions go for 30 minutes. Suitable for children aged 1 to 5 years.

Join us for stories, songs and rhymes that will take you on adventures, exploring the seasons, animals, world around us and much, much more. In 2023 we are enriching our Story Times with different themes to further engage children in their literacy experience.

Movement: children will be exploring literacy through movement.  They will be encouraged to use their bodies to tell stories, learn rhymes and express themselves.

Music: Story Time has never sounded so good! Join Rockin’ Russell for music, singing, percussion and jam along with your own musical instruments.

Play based: children will have the opportunity to take part in play-based activities centred on the topic of the week, enhancing their learning through fun, hands-on activities.

Story Time in the park: enjoy an afternoon outdoors at Paine Street Reserve, Newport. Under the shade of the big tree there will be stories, songs and rhymes for everyone to join in together. If the weather is wet, the program will be moved indoors to the Newport Community Hub.
