Hobsons Bay Working for Victoria
Council is proud to be partnering with the state government as one of 15 councils across Victoria to have recently joined the Working for Victoria program. This partnership has created more than 130 jobs within Hobsons Bay for those who have lost their job or whose income has been significantly impacted as a result of COVID-19. Council has received $5.9 million funding from the state government that will boost the local economy and support the community as it begins to recover from the pandemic.
All positions were for a six-month term and are centred on environment and biodiversity, local footpaths and infrastructure maintenance and improvement, local business support and liaison, communications and engagement, digital and business transformation and community services.
All positions have currently been filled. We look forward to showcasing some of the many and varied projects our Working for Victoria workforce achieve for the community of Hobsons Bay.
