Social Planning and Development
The Social Planning and Development team supports, facilitates and drives Council's contribution to social change in Hobsons Bay.
More specifically, its role is to: 
- develop policy, plans and advocacy to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of people experiencing disadvantage
- undertake research and consultation to understand community needs and build the evidence base for informed planning and decision making
- manage data and information resources to support social policy, advocacy and development
- support and deliver of a range of programs and activities to enhance residents' quality of life and promote improved equity and access
Each person within the team is able to:
- identify and highlight Hobsons Bay's social issues and needs, both now and into the future
- identify and develop responses to changing needs and issues through advocacy, planning and policy development
- contribute to increasing understanding and strengthening of our diverse community
