Frazer Reserve Works

Council is improving the amenity, safety and habitat of Altona’s Frazer Reserve.

Following a community submission during a previous budget process, Council will install:

  • a new picnic shelter for shade over the picnic table
  • a new footpath to the toilets and between the entry points
  • additional tree planting and new garden beds
  • new fencing along the south side of the reserve facing the Esplanade

The removal of three existing trees in poor condition will coincide with six new tree plantings of Banksia Integrifolia. This species has been selected for its biodiversity and will not cause damage to adjoining property fencing. Further detail on the location of these additional trees may be viewed in the reserve improvement plan(PDF, 3MB).

Construction works are expected to occur between May and June 2020.

During these works, the reserve will be closed off to the public, however access to the existing public toilets facing Millers Road will be maintained.
