Bike Maintenance Stations

Council is installing some bike maintenance stations along shared trails in Hobsons Bay, including at the following locations:

  1. McBain Street – near the vehicle access ramp, Altona
  2. Burgoyne Reserve – Williamstown
  3. Lan Avenue Bridge – across Skeleton Creek at Ravenswood Court, Seabrook
  4. Shared trail parallel to Ravenswood Court, Altona Meadows

Each station includes a pump and basic tools to help complete minor bike maintenance.

Stations will be installed near existing water fountains.

Installation at Altona and Williamstown occurred in June 2020 while the station at Seabrook will be installed after the pedestrian bridge works are complete.

How do they work?

The bike maintenance stations will allow riders to complete on-the-go maintenance and repairs, ensuring they can safely reach their destination on any given day.

Stations are designed to service two bikes at once. The hanger arms allow a bike to be elevated off the ground while repairs are made.

They will be installed at least 1 metre away from the edge of the shared trail on a concrete pad, maintaining a safe fall zone for users of the shared trail.

Each station includes a pump and basic tools to help you complete minor maintenance on your bike. Tools include:

  • flathead and Phillips screwdrivers
  • wrenches
  • tyre levers
  • air pump

For bike maintenance support and instructions on how to use the tools provided, visit www.bikefixation.com/help or scan the QR code located on the bike maintenance station.
