Kids Take Over the Civic

Come and join us for a day of free family activities as the Kids take over the Civic Centre.

There is something to discover in all corners of the Civic Centre - come on our scavenger hunt through the space and win!

This full-day event has activities for all ages from 0 to 12 years old. 

Enjoy live music, dance and story time performances from local acts, including: 

• Colourful kids creative dance workshop at 10.15am*
• Hullaballoo at 10.30am* 
• The thrills of magic with a special magicians show at 11.30am.* 
• Storytime with Rocking Russell and the Newport Fiddle and Folk Club at 12.30pm * 
• Design your own book bag and bookmark
  *These free sessions require bookings due to capacity limits so click the links above to book your spot.  

Many of the shows are sold out, but there's still plenty on. You don't need a ticket to join in all the other fun activities, including:

• Face Painting
• M-bot racing and take-home technologies kits (new to Hobsons Bay Libraries)
• Design your own book bag and bookmark
• Baby Sensory Zone
• Have oversize fun with our oversized games including Jenga and Connect 4 on the deck
• Quiet reading corner and parent space.

There will also be a scavenger hunt! Participate in the competition to win three big prizes, including a family pass to the Scienceworks, $75 book voucher, and a family movie pass to the Sun Theatre (2 adults, 2 children).
