Community Support Package 5

The fifth Community Support Package includes support for sporting groups:

  • extension of the current waiver of ground allocation fees and assistance with electricity bills ($85,000) to support sporting clubs - sporting clubs will be contacted directly
  • rent relief to eligible tenants of Council buildings, at this stage estimated to be in the order of $100,000 - affected businesses will be contacted directly 

Community Support Package 4

As part of the fourth Community Support Package, the Make it Happen Hobsons Bay Recovery and Reconnection Grants program will receive an additional $162,500 to support community groups or organisations to ‘make things happen’ through activities, projects, programs, events and resourcing across all sectors of Hobsons Bay. 

This program funded 109 projects, activities and events in 2020-21 to support a range of sectors to recover and reconnect, including sporting clubs, community groups and agencies, arts and culture, events facilitators and environmental organisations.

Rates Financial Assistance 

There is genuine and discreet support for residents impacted by the pandemic. Ratepayers who have been impacted by COVID-19 can apply for financial assistance to reduce the amount owing on their rates by 1 December 2021, in-line with the second-rate instalment.
